A £5.2 billion regeneration scheme has already attracted a great deal of attention for Croydon. Up and coming areas in London don’t come much more attractive than this town and borough, noted as one of the fastest growing economies in the Capital.
The ideal suburban location for a business to locate, Croydon offers exceptional transport links, with investment into the local transport network, including the roads network, highly significant. Fiveways Junction is set to see major improvement, including shorter waiting times for traffic, as well as the introduction of 300 metres of new cycle lanes and stopping areas.
A new public square is planned for Croydon Town Hall courtesy of the £500 million St George’s Walk scheme, which includes new shops and hundreds of residential dwellings. Commuters will also benefit from the expansion of East Croydon Station, which includes the creation of new homes above and around the station, and the remodelling of Norwood Station which will allow more trains to run through and stop.
Enhancing Croydon’s appeal as a place to live, work and set up an office, its London Borough of Culture 2023 award will see £1.35 million worth of investment into a year-long programme of activities aimed at placing culture at the heart of the community. What’s more, thanks to its close proximity to Gatwick Airport, Croydon could prove the ideal place to set up an office for any business considering international expansion.
